Psalm 143:5-6
I remember the days gone by;
I think about all you have done,
I bring to mind all your deeds.
I lift up my hands to you in prayer;
like dry ground my soul is thirsty for you.

Historical building destroyed in fire
The old St John of God Sisters’ Convent at Lombadina-Djarandjin was destroyed in a fierce fire on 5 August 2006. The building was constructed in a local bush architectural style with hand-hewn timbers and boards cut in a saw pit. Pallottine Brothers and local people erected the building in 1913.

For everyone involved, this tragedy is a huge loss but for the sake of history and future generations it's going is a major calamity. The building was in disrepair awaiting a grant from the Heritage Council. Previous applications to other funding organizations has been refused.
