Psalm 143:5-6
I remember the days gone by;
I think about all you have done,
I bring to mind all your deeds.
I lift up my hands to you in prayer;
like dry ground my soul is thirsty for you.

Studying law now a reality in Broome

By Mike Doyle

The University of Notre Dame Broome Campus has taken another giant leap forward with the announcement it will extend its range of courses to include Law from next year.

The Broome Campus will establish the first two years of its existing Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program in 2007 and 2008. Students will then be able to complete the final two years at the Fremantle Campus.

Recently appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Broome Campus, Sister Sonia Wagner sgs, said the decision was another positive one for the region.

“It demonstrates the University’s commitment to the Kimberley region and indigenous higher education, and our determination to further expand and develop our Campus of Reconciliation,” said Sister Sonia.

Notre Dame’s Dean of Law, Professor Michael Gillooly, said bringing Law to Broome was a very exciting project.

“Not only will the program provide a unique opportunity for students in the Kimberley to study Law, but Fremantle students will also be able to incorporate a stint in Broome within the framework of their degree,” Mr Gillooly said. “The program offers wonderful scope for cross cultural interchange” .
