Title Long serving employee awarded
By By Alma Cabassi rsj
At the recent Awards of Excellence in Catholic Aboriginal Education held in Perth, Katie Cox of Warmun Community in the East Kimberley was given an award as a Long Serving Aboriginal Staff Member. Katie began as a Teaching Assistant when the Ngalangangpum School Warmun first began 28 years ago. After a brief time away, Katie returned to the Community and was employed to make the lunches for the children. The newer employees look to her as a mentor and appreciate her wisdom and sense of humour.
