Centacare – New Location
Loreto House at 25 Robinson Street Broome has been renovated and improved to serve as the new location for Centacare services. This new location provides a more cheerful and spacious environment for both staff and clients and contributes to a more professional and appropriate service to the community.
Thanks is due to Bishop Saunders and the Diocesan personnel who have worked with staff to achieve this significant step forward in extending the Diocese’s capacity to respond to the needs of the Broome community.
Whilst Centacare’s current services are confined to the federally funded Personal Support and Emergency Relief Programs, Centacare is looking forward to expanding its role and undertaking other initiatives to reach out to community needs. The first of these will be the launch of the “Hey Dad” program, which we hope will become available later this year. This highly effective program assists fathers to become more comfortable in and informed about their role with their children and it can be adapted to address the needs of men in different cultural and family situations. More information will be made available in the coming months.
