Bishop John Jobst, Bishop of Broome 1959-1995, has celebrated his fiftieth year as a Bishop. Bishop Jobst was consecrated a Bishop in Sydney by Archbishop Carboni on 19 March 1959. Born in Frankenberg, Germany on 4 February 1920, he was ordained Priest 9 July 1950 and appointed Vicar Apostolic of the Kimberley on 13 January 1959. He was appointed Bishop of the newly created Diocese after it ceased to be a Vicariate on 7 June 1966. He retired 3 November 1995. We wish Bishop Jobst very many prayers and blessings for the occasion of his Anniversary.

From Bishop Christopher Saunders, the priests and people
of the Kimberley Mission, Broome Diocese. WA.
