National award

Lay Missionary from Kalumburu, Michael Keane (L) was recognized with a national award from AQIS (Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service) for his efforts at attending to quarantine matters in the northern remote settlement.

AQIS Northern Protection Program Manager, Robert Langlands (R) was effusive in his praise of Michael, whose enduring work in this important field has long gone unnoticed.

Michael's nomination was chosen over many other candidates, who work in northern Australia on the worthy task of protecting Australia against invasive exotic pests.
