Marienfeld - 20th & 21st August 2005
With great excitement young people from around the world gathered at Marienfeld to await the arrival of Pope Benedict XVI. The pilgrims celebrated the Vigil Mass and on the last day of the World Youth Day week over a million people gathered to celebrate the final Mass with Pope Benedict XVI. The youth day pilgrimage came to an end and our pilgrims started their long journey home. Although they were tired when they finally arrived back in the Kimberley they were all still excited and confirmed that the experience was one they will not forget.
Pilgrims walked for many kilometres to gather at Marienfeld for the final days of World Youth Day week.
